WPC Multi Currency for WooCommerce Premium gives a WooCommerce store a currency layer that reaches beyond a basic symbol swap. It converts product prices using exchange rates, lets shoppers select a preferred currency, and carries that selection into order emails. Store owners get control over rates, formatting, rounding, fixed product prices, and the payment and shipping methods available for each currency.
Currency control
The plugin supports unlimited currencies, with individual exchange rates, symbols, and formatting settings. Exchange rates can update automatically through ExchangeRate-API without an API key, on an hourly, twice-daily, daily, or weekly schedule. Manual overrides provide a way to keep a chosen rate instead of accepting every automatic update.
Conversion fees are available as either a percentage or a fixed amount per currency. That is useful for stores that need to account for currency-related costs without changing the underlying product prices. Fixed prices per product and currency provide a second pricing model, allowing selected items to ignore automatic conversion altogether.
Pricing presentation
Rounding controls are more detailed than simply choosing the nearest whole number. The available options include rounding to the nearest 1, 10, 100, or 1000, along with Charm .99, Charm .95, End-in-9, and round-thousands formats. A dual-price display can show the original price alongside the converted amount, giving customers a reference point while they browse.
The switcher itself is not tied to one interface. There is a dropdown with emoji or custom-image flags, a button-style option, and a menu switcher that appends to an existing WordPress navigation menu. A product-page switcher can appear at configurable positions, while a floating switcher uses a fixed FAB placement with six position choices. A WooCommerce widget covers sidebar placement.
Store rules
Currency selection also reaches operational parts of the store. Payment gateways and shipping methods can be restricted by currency, which supports different fulfilment or payment arrangements for different markets. GeoIP detection automatically selects a currency based on visitor location, while customers retain the ability to use the available switcher controls.
Selected currencies are reflected in order emails, keeping the amount shown to the customer consistent after purchase. WPML and Polylang integrations address multilingual stores, and the plugin includes REST API support for headless and mobile app integrations. Public PHP functions provide an integration path for third-party developers.
What to weigh
The feature set creates an administration trade-off. Unlimited currencies, scheduled rates, manual overrides, fees, rounding patterns, and fixed product prices give a store considerable control, but they also create more pricing decisions to maintain. Fixed product prices in particular need their own review when a catalogue or market strategy changes.
The ExchangeRate-API connection is convenient and does not require a key, but automatic conversion still makes the store’s displayed prices dependent on an external rate source and update schedule. Currency-specific payment and shipping restrictions add another ruleset to WooCommerce checkout management. Finally, the range of dropdown, button, menu, product-page, floating, and widget placements means the switcher needs deliberate theme and navigation planning rather than a single universal placement.
Who it suits
This is aimed at WooCommerce stores serving several countries, especially those that need more than automatic conversion. A small international catalogue can use the exchange-rate and dual-display features, while a larger shop gets fixed product pricing, conversion fees, market-specific gateways, and shipping restrictions. Multilingual, headless, and mobile-app projects also have relevant integration points through WPML, Polylang, the REST API, and public PHP functions. Stores selling in one currency, or those wanting only a simple manual selector, will have little reason to take on this broader configuration layer.
