BookingPress Razorpay Payment Gateway Addon

Razorpay payments become an option inside the BookingPress appointment flow with this focused gateway addon. It is aimed at salons, clinics, consultancies and other appointment-based businesses that want customers to pay during booking rather than arrange payment separately. The addon connects an existing BookingPress setup to Razorpay, keeping the payment step on the business website according to the vendor description.

What it adds

The main value is payment choice at the point of booking. Razorpay supports several payment routes, so customers are not restricted to entering a card number. The integration is described as supporting:

• Credit and debit card payments
• Net banking
• Digital wallets
• UPI-based apps, including BHIM and Tez

That range suits an India-focused checkout particularly well, where UPI and net banking sit alongside cards as everyday payment methods. Keeping these options within the booking journey also removes the need to direct a customer to a separate payment page or ask staff to confirm payment manually.

Booking flow

For a BookingPress site, the addon is intended to sit behind the appointment checkout rather than replace it. The booking plugin remains responsible for presenting appointments, while Razorpay handles the payment selection and transaction step. That division gives service businesses a straightforward route from choosing a slot to paying for it.

The vendor positions configuration as a few-click process that needs no coding or specialist technical knowledge. That matters for a small practice or service business without a developer on hand. Razorpay is also described as having online onboarding and fast processing, although the actual account setup and payment approval process remain part of working with Razorpay rather than a feature created by this WordPress addon.

Payment coverage

The strongest case for this addon is breadth at checkout. A customer who does not want to use a card still has net banking, a wallet or a supported UPI app available. That flexibility is more useful than a gateway that only handles one payment pattern, especially for appointment businesses serving customers with different banking habits.

It also keeps the gateway choice close to the BookingPress booking process. Businesses already using BookingPress do not need to describe a separate payment workflow to customers or build a custom connection themselves. The vendor specifically presents the combination as a way to reduce friction between selecting a service and completing payment.

What to weigh

This is an integration addon, not an independent booking or payment platform. It has little purpose without BookingPress, so sites using another appointment plugin would need a different Razorpay connection. It is also tied to Razorpay: businesses that need another gateway will need another addon or integration rather than switching a setting inside this product.

The supplied product information focuses on checkout methods and setup, but does not explain refunds, recurring payments, saved payment details, supported currencies or transaction reporting. Those details matter for clinics and service businesses with cancellations, memberships or more involved accounting, so they should be confirmed before choosing this as the complete payment solution. The description also does not specify how failed payments or interrupted bookings are handled.

Who it suits

BookingPress users who want Razorpay at the point of appointment payment are the clear audience. It is a sensible fit for a salon, clinic, consultancy or similar service where customers book online and need several familiar Indian payment options. The case is weaker for sites that need a standalone gateway, advanced payment administration or a checkout outside the BookingPress workflow.
