WPC Restock Alerts

WPC Restock Alerts adds a waitlist workflow to WooCommerce products that are temporarily unavailable. It detects out-of-stock items, presents a “Notify Me” form, and gives customers a way to request an alert rather than leaving the product page with no next step.

What it adds

The core feature is automatic form visibility. The subscription form appears for an out-of-stock product and disappears when the relevant item is available again. That logic also extends to variable products: the form responds to the selected variation, so an in-stock size or colour does not continue showing a notification prompt intended for an unavailable one.

This is a practical distinction for shops with changing variation-level stock. Customers can subscribe to the item they actually want instead of joining a broad list for the parent product. The plugin also supports a minimum stock threshold, allowing notifications to wait until inventory reaches a chosen level, such as five units.

Message content is not fixed. Form titles, button labels, success messages, and notification email templates can be changed to match the store’s wording. A blacklist system also supports unwanted email addresses and IP ranges, including wildcard patterns such as *@bad-domain.com and 123.45.*.

Where it falls short

The feature set is focused on waitlist operations rather than wider WooCommerce reporting. Its charts cover subscription trends and popular products, so stores looking for sales, customer, or inventory analysis still need their broader reporting tools.

The notification channels described are email and Telegram. That covers two useful routes, but a business requiring SMS, push notifications, or another messaging service would need a separate solution. The blacklist is also a manual control: wildcard rules give administrators flexibility, while making it important to maintain the patterns carefully so an unwanted address or range is blocked without catching legitimate subscribers.

Finally, the shortcode makes placement flexible, but it also gives the site owner another presentation choice to manage. Stores using custom product layouts will need to decide where an additional subscription prompt fits, rather than relying on one universal placement.
